Whether you are a parent who is looking to find a social or learning pod for your student, or a teacher, mentor, or caregiver willing to lead a pod, you have come to the right place.
NoVA Dolphin Pods is a membership based website where families can search for other families with similar social interests and educational goals for the purpose of forming pods. Families can also search for teachers, service providers, and caregivers to lead their pods. Register Now to join the NoVA Dolphin Pods community.
Once you have registered and logged into the site, “MY PROFILE” will appear in place of “LOGIN” on the main menu. Select “Profile” from this menu to personalize your space and start creating and managing student and leader profiles for your family.
1. Personalize Your Space
Your personal page is where other users can learn about you and see a list of your students and leaders. On this page, you can add a description about yourself and what you are looking for in a pod arrangement or offering as a leader. What you write here helps others consider if you or your family are a good fit for them as a pod partner or leader. It’s always nice to put a face to a name! Don’t forget to add a personal photo of yourself and a cover photo.
2. Create Your Profiles
To begin creating profiles for your family, choose either “Students” or “Leaders” on the menu and click the “Add Profile” button. Profiles can always be updated or deleted.
To manage privacy settings for a profile, click the “Privacy” button. Choose to hide or show a profile in the directory depending on whether you are currently looking for a pod. Determine whether or not to allow prospective leaders to contact you.
3. Start Searching
The profiles you prepare are included in the FIND FAMILIES or FIND LEADERS directories. Directories can be filtered on a variety of factors to find available students or leaders who best match your needs. Once you find a prospect, click on the profile to see more details and click the “Contact” button to visit the page of the profile owner and send them a private message.
Attention Google Survey Respondents! If you filled out the original Google Survey in July, an account has already been created for you. You can begin using the site as soon as you create a password for yourself.
Leaders come from many walks of life! Leaders can be teachers of course, or trained service providers such as occupational therapists or counselors. But they can also be mentors, athletic coaches, scout leaders, tutors, adults with professional expertise or interests, babysitters, nannies, or students in college or high school. And they can absolutely be parents, too! Anyone who is willing to offer services or volunteer to share their time and experience, please consider creating a Leader Profile.
